Five Things Friday: TGIF

Pin It PIN IT!

HELLLO WEEKEND! Oh my sweets, I am SO thrilled it’s Friday. This week has been exhausting. Um, plus, we are having a very special guest stay with us for the weekend! I’ll give you a hint. Her name rhymes with schmannon and she was one of my bridesmaids.

She’s gawwwgeous, right? I haven’t seen her smiling face since the wedding, so I’m really pumped! Now onward to five things about my silly life.

1. I’m confidant that I was meant to live as a flapper in the 20’s. Don’t believe me? Check out my homage to Gatsby inspired dresses and a feathery purse on¬†my wedding blog. Plus, they rocked the COOLEST headbands.

2. Last weekend, my really good friend Heidi got married in South Bend and I’m still shocked it’s almost been a week already. I bet she’s feeling the same way. I remember a week after our wedding I was completely amazed at how quickly the time flew. I had such a great time at her wedding and was so happy I got to spend some time with my family, too. My parents and brothers live in South Bend, and with it being a 12 hour drive, I don’t see them often! Her color was pink and I absolutely loved the floral arrangements. The bridesmaids carried bright bouquets that were made with pink, white and green flowers while the bride carried an all white bouquet made of all roses. She wore a gorgeous statement necklace (which, as you know, is my thing) and had bright pink shoes to match our dresses! Once I’m done editing the rest of the photos, I’ll share em!

I’m so excited to hear all about their amazing honeymoon in Aruba ūüôā

3. I’M GOING TO MY FIRST BLOGGING CONFERENCE NEXT WEEKEND! I’m so excited to attend the Healthy Living Summit and finally meet some of the bloggers I’ve gotten really close with. (I’m looking at you Gretchen!)¬†In addition to the summit this weekend, I was also invited by Foodbuzz (my publishing partner) to attend their annual conference this November in San Francisco! I’m so so so excited because it’ll be my first time in the amazing city and I get to meet (and crash with) two of my favorite bloggers, Stephanie and Kita! In addition, I get to see my big brah, who is a golf pro there! I haven’t seen him since March so it’ll be a really nice to kick it with him in his side of the country! Oh, and I’m going to stalk Mrs. Jacin of Lovely Little Details and Lisa of With Style and Grace too ūüôā

4. I’m really, really happy my hair isn’t purple anymore.

I¬†couldn’t agree with this more and it speaks so true to me now. I’m so blessed to have a job that I love. I don’t wake up with dread anymore, I don’t go to sleep with tear soaked eyes. I¬†wake up excited, motivated and happy to go to a place where the people respect me and my expertise, where they offer words of encouragement and¬†support and where¬†we all actually WORK in a team and not just say we do.¬†Looking back, I’m¬†not shocked that I gained weight,¬†picked endless fights and was generally negative and rude¬†for the past 2 years,¬†I¬†was miserable at a place I was spending¬†most of¬†my time!¬†So guys, PLEASE, if you ever take any pieces of advice from me, GET OUT IF YOU’RE MISERABLE! I don’t care who you are, what financial state you are in or where you are, life is too short to spend 8 hours of your day¬†completely miserable. No paycheck is worth that, friends.

Oh and one more thing that couldn’t be more perfect. After all, ¬†it’s a beautiful day in MY life, this crazy, unexplainable, silly, ridiculous, fantasticly brilliant, undeniably sad and all around MAGICAL life. ¬†And honestly, I’m so incredibly thankful for every single second of it. [Even when the¬† metro craps out and delays my commute, I burn a cheesecake or lose my favorite blouse].
