A look back…2010 was good to me!

Pin It PIN IT!

Pop open a bottle of bubbly and bid ado to 2010! [Photo via]

First off, HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE! I had no intention of writing a ‘year in review’ post until I saw my friend Kelly’s, aka kjpugs. She wrapped up her year via photographs and funny one-liners, which to me, is how posts like these should be written and showcased! So thank you Kelly, for inspiring me to post my 2010 adventures via photos! I’ve had an amazing, exciting, emotionally trying, upsetting, hilarious, glorious and beautiful year and I know 2011 will be EVEN better. [I mean, I’m getting married and I got promoted, two awesome things right there!] Happy New Years everyone and I wish you all a healthy, happy and delicious year!

January

  • I rang in 2010 with my best friend Emily. My pale and gross look is due to the fact that I had a horrible cold. Boo!

  • Along with a cold, I also snapped my elbow! I fell outside of the metro and had to be in a cast for a month! All in all, January sucked.

February

  • February was 1000 times better than January! We got snowed in!! DC was hit by a MASSIVE blizzard [snowpocalypse 2010] and we were stuck at home for 2 weeks!

  • Luckily the snow subsided so I could go to Cleveland for Em’s bachelorette! As you can tell, we had a great time! I also got a HUGE tax refund and a cute new hair do!

  • Elliot proposed!!!!!! Read the full story as written by him here. We custom designed my ring and it honestly could not be more perfect 🙂

March

  • March began with a much needed trip to VEGAS with my friends Melanie, Eli and his fiancée. I can’t wait to go back!

  • El and I also checked out wedding venues and had our place and date locked down by the end of the month!

April

  • Emily and Josh moved to Bethesda! It’s the first time we’ve lived less than 3 hours away since I was in 5th grade! [I don’t have any photos from this, but it’s still exciting!]

May

  • EMILY AND JOSH GOT MARRIED!!
  • I also started my wedding blog, A Realistic Wedding, which has grown from just a few views to hundreds a day!

June – July

  • I put these two months together because I spent the last week of June and the first week of July in ITALY!!! I went with my family and it was the  most amazing 2 weeks of my life. We went to Rome, Florence, San Gimignano, Venice and Orvieto! I highly recommend going!

  • When I got back from Italy, El and I got our engagement photos taken! We had a bit of drama with a previous photographer, but the one who shot our e-sesh was amazing!

August

  • With the help of my mom, grandma, aunt, MOH and bff, I bought my wedding dress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because I don’t want my fiancee or anyone to see it, there won’t be a photo. You’ll see it soon in 3 months!

September

  • Celebrated Virginia Wine at the VA wine festival with Em, Josh, Melanie and El!

  • Went down to Charleston to do wedding stuff. I also got to see my bridesmaid Shannon, who I hadn’t seen in over a year!!

October

  • Dressed up as a sexy June Cleaver [yes, Elliot is dressed as Gumby and doesn’t he look CREEPY?!] and spent Halloween up at Put-In-Bay with my family! Doesn’t Oscar make a cute pirate?

November

  • El, the dogs and I took a mini vacation to the Shenandoah Valley to go hiking! It was absolutely gorgeous!

  • Emily’s mom, aka my second mom, came in for a visit so we grabbed dinner in Bethesda!

  • Had a good Thanksgiving in Charleston with Elliot’s family!

December

  • We kicked off December by celebrating my birthday! We went to a fancy dinner & saw A Christmas Carol at Ford’s Theater!

  • Decked out my house in Martha Stewart fashion with all of the holiday trimmings.

Tonight we will celebrate 2010 and ring in 2011 the same way we did last year, with our best friends! Happy New Year everyone!

Sounds like an awesome 2010! I also see a bit of my hometown up there, you were probably minutes from where I live in the Shenandoah Valley, haha!

Hope you have an amazing new years eve and an even better 2011!

SO MUCH to say. Ok. Starting.
    1. Thanks for the shout out and I'm SO GLAD YOU DID THIS TOO!!!!
    2. I'm glad that you had at least one month that just SUCKED too. I mean, I'm not glad for the suck-age. But wasn't it weird being like... wait, NOTHING good happened that month!!!!?!? Your January, my June.
    3. I love love LOVE that picture from Em's bachelorette. LOVE.
    4. I'm still jealous of your trip abroad.... my five weeks in Italy in 2005 weren't enough.
    5. Your engagement pictures are in my top five of all time. A lot of this is due to how wonderfully you guys dressed yourselves (SO PERFECT for e-pics, not matchy and "these are our colorssss" like we did, or anything lame- just a little fun, unexpected, and SO flattering) and then your photog just captured it perfectly. SO super good.
    6. I want to be friends with Em's mom too.
    7. That white dress with black tights IS PERFECTION. Literally it's perfection wrapped up in a little package. PER-FEC-TION!
    8. I'm so jealous of that cute little fireplace!!!!!! I need to strive for better decorations next year. Remind me?
Ok, the end :) I hope this all made sense! HAPPY ALMOST 2011!!!!
