Banana & Chocolate Chip Waffles

Serves about 8.
Prep time: >5 minutes
Cook time: 5 – 6 minutes

Directions: 

  1. Spray a waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray and preheat. (If your waffle maker has a setting, set to 3 – 4).
  2. Meanwhile, whisk the flour, salt and baking powder together. Make a well in the center and mix in the honey, milk, cream, smashed banana, applesauce, oil and eggs, stir to combine.
  3. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Pour 1/2 cup of the batter into the center of the waffle iron. Close lid and cook until green indicator lights up (or for about 3 – 4 minutes, or when waffle is golden brown). Carefully remove from waffle iron and set aside. Repeat with remaining batter until you have about 8 waffles.
  5. Top waffles with whipped cream and 1 tablespoon or so of nutella.
